Guardian Guard Services Employee of the Month

James (Jim) Stratton joined Guardian Guard Service in August 2013 as an assistant supervisor at one of Guardian’s premier clients that is located in Portage, MI near Kalamazoo. Given the long distance the site is from the support staff at Guardian headquarters in Detroit, it requires a strong leader for our existing security team. They need to operate independently while providing customer service that echoes our mission statement. A few months later, after other candidates were having difficulty, Jim stepped up and took over as the site supervisor in January 2014.

Jim has gone above and beyond what is expected of a site supervisor.  Not only is he responsible for training, leading and scheduling his growing team of 14 officers, but he also assists with the responsibilities of HR recruiter and command center dispatcher by networking and recruiting qualified applicants and handling officer call offs and scheduling emergencies. Jim’s “can-do” and “will-do” attitude has spread to his officers. Jim has fostered such a positive work environment that his employee morale is very high, which results in great customer service from all his officers. It has become common place for Guardian management to receive emails from the client thanking Jim and his officers for their efforts while on duty.

Additionally, Jim has been instrumental to the success of the Guardian’s security team, ultimately resulting in contract renewals and securing a new contract in Battle Creek, MI. For all that he does for his team, clients and Guardian, Jim is an ideal winner of  the Guardian Maximum Achievement Award.
